Can you imagine what it will look like

February 26, 2023

Growing up, I was certain that getting married one day would happen. At an early age I knew marriage was going to be part of my adult makeup. As time moved on I went about my life as any single woman would. I must admit I dated a lot. Nothing serious until I met the love of my life, Michael. Our relationship was a natural progression that led to marriage.

Likewise were the wedding bell thoughts that I couldn’t escape.  Would it be a lot of guests or just close family and friends?  Would the ceremony be an inside or outside?  Would we serve a sit-down dinner or heavy appetizers?  The thoughts were endless.  Dreaming of this day, felt like I had forever in a day to make those decisions.

Fast forward a few dating years and decisions had to be made immediately for our plans to come together. As much planning as I did, I must say the day of my wedding is one I will never forget. It will forever remain indelible in my heart. With a flood of emotions and the completed to do list made this day as dreamy as possible.

Still, how I envisioned the day and the actual day were totally different, but in a good way. Reminiscing about my wedding got me thinking about our time in eternity.  Do you ever or have you ever imagined what our time with GOD will be like? No sickness. No disappointments. No past due bills. No hurt feelings. No dying.

No heartbreak, heartaches, suffering, mental health issues, and the list goes on and on. John 10:28 says, “I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

Read that again. How amazing is it that we who are born again get to live with our savior forever and ever?  As we live and breathe and have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are preparing for that day.   When the day arrives to be with the Lord forever, the preparations will be worth it and a thousand times better than what we imagined.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says “eye has not seen, no ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” As I meditate on this verse, it means that the most vivid dreams I have about heaven is just that…dreams. My dreams can’t compare to what heaven is actually like.

Let me say that differently.  We have a lot of creative minds that move about in the atmosphere.  If you don’t believe, just take a few moments and scroll through Tik Tok. I mean, the application created a space for individuals, groups, etc. to showcase their creativity.

If you were to task the most creative person in the world with developing a prototype of heaven it wouldn’t come close to what God has prepared for us. That in and of itself is just mind-blowing; don’t you think?

Ease & Stillness,
